that last entry didn´t do that guy at all justice…imagine the bullshit bravado of jim morrison by way of the cheese of patrick swaze via the utter comedy of the three amigos (unintentional). a sheer powerstorm of laughter that nearly exploded internal organs suppressing.

ronda is a whitewashed and red-tiled little city perched high on a meseta-cliff-moutain, amid brown farm fields, the city split by a giant gorge between the new and old parts. the old is very muslim and medina like, with twisty cobblestoned streets… the new sort of typical spanish architecture, but the bonus are the views you get looking down the streets and out over the rolling brown hills backed by small mountains. the gorge itself can be traversed by three different bridges, all providing different angled views of the city itself, the abandoned old houses built into the cliffside, and the small rio guadalevin below barely audible below. ronda was a haven for bandits during the reconquista and a haven for bullfighting as well. the romero family hails from here, the last of which developed the first bullfighting school. history… speaking of which, we made it today to Benaojan via short train from Ronda to see la cueva de pileta, which has caveman art from 20-40k years ago. very impressive cave, with all the stalagmite-tite trimmings, and the drawings were as expected stick figure scrawl of dye and animal fat, just outlines of horses and goats and a big fish with a seal in it that i am convinced was a chicken. and the whole atmosphere was gloomy and scary to imagine life back then, and reinforced thoughts that conquering nature is perhaps a very important thing.

oh yeah, and we came here from Cadiz and got some beach in at the undeveloped and very spaniard populated costa de luz, great sunny time, but i had my first dream about going back to work. boooooo.
