May 1, observed as a holiday especially in socialist countries in honor of labor

I love protesters. I love their whacky clothes and hairdo’s, their punk rock ethic and artness. I love that they care. Or at least like to put on performances claiming that they care.

“Rational” people will argue that demonstrations are in vain, as the protesters are so often less than knowledgeable about, err, about most things. But the point is to draw attention. It’s a freak show. Trip up the demagoges and corporations from abusing power. Let your freak flag fly. It’s the same old checks and balances system in democracy. If you can push it by everyone without issue then you’re free to go about your business…not until then.

Protests are still the best way to draw media attention to an issue.

Without the globalization protests many people wouldn’thave thought twice about opening the world market floodgates to Global Capitalism. That it should happen properly, with thought to process, and the integrity of local cultures civilization as well as their economy, enforcing human rights and labor rights as well.

Happy May Day, Proletarians!!!

Granted, many don’t understand the issues, but Bono does. Don’t mistake
the finger for the moon. Don’t under estimate the BONO.
