RIAA pre-emptive attacks on music community
Oh the irony. Just as we’re talking about pre-emptive strikes it appears the RIAA have taken lessons from Bush (or vice-versa) and plan to take out the evil file sharing minions of the internet.
“Meanwhile, as a pre-emptive strike, the record industry hired specialized software companies to flood the Internet with glitch-filled versions of songs as a way to frustrate would-be KaZaA file sharers. In reaction, the KaZaA service this week introduced updated software that rates files so users can avoid corrupted versions.”
I’ve been wondering just how all those crappy mp3s got on Kazaa. Not that I ever use Kazaa. That would be wrong. Then again, one might counter that mp3 sharing is more a result of the artificially inflated prices of CD’s. But that person would be the devil.
You make the call.
