Will digital replace analog finally, not by preference but out of necessity? Line 6 is banking on it with their “Pod” series of amp simulators. Pure digital recreations of analog goodness. The idea here being to model old time tube sounds, etc. because these amps and instruments won’t be around forever. I like Slingluff’s neurotic attitude in his quest for authentic reproduction:
