I like this guys answer to a question in google groups on how to avoid the RIAA and use kazaa at the same time:

1. Find an ISP that still accepts payment by money-order. Give them totally false user information when you apply.

2. Access the above ISP account using only networking available in public places, e.g. hotels. Remember to pay cash for your room and register under a fake name! Don’t establish any patterns of hotel use!

Might cost more in the end the end than simply purchasing the records, but it will be virtually impossible for the RIAA to identify you.
