Two more days in the van travelling up to Cincinnati via the forlorn interstate landscapes of Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky, and we are insanely couped up. Cincinnati is dreary, but the architecture is really cool, it is a German settled town (who knew?), with old buildings and factories and the like. We get to the Alchemize, which has a super convenient garage alley load-in area, get sound check done and walk to a bar in the rain. Get some grub and then back, as it is nasty out. Upstairs is another bar but it isn’t open so we use it as a backstage area. Ruthie and I play ping pong, I sweep 3-0. Ping pong is the most exercise I’ve had in 3 days. We play to people seated at tables, the sound is muddled from my perspective and I can’t really get into the set until the end. Such is life.
