Battle of the Planets

Battle of the Planets, (adapted from Gatchaman) inspired many an adolescent daydream, once upon a time. Remember the day when you would wake up before school to watch TV?

There was another anime from either the late 70s or the early 80s that featured giant ships, pirate ship style, traveling through space. I can’t for the life of me remember it.

Battle of the Planets was fantastic… the Phoenix! That screeching sound it made… brings me back.

‘My Youth in Arcadia’/'StarBlazers’ (American title) I believe is the show you mean.

Several thoughts here: first of all, how the late 70’s, early 80’s were such a great era of work for blast style trumpet players and string sections - all of those stacato notes. From big band, to Herb Alpert, to film and TV and general disco background work, but where are they now?

Also, how hot would it be if women started wearing fake arm wings and go go boots? I can do without the helmet and face shield.

And I must say, common - a post that links to youtube? Really, now; isn’t that just an easy and quick lazy way to build content for your blog?

Wow, total blast from the past: I just realized why the name of the indonesian percussion instrument sounded familiar when I first heard what it was called years ago. Similar to the StarBlazer enemy force - Gamelon.
