Chavez. Warsaw. Dec 16.
Chavez, the little anti-rock arena band that couldn’t, is playing four two shows in support of their “box set.” And I’m going to see them in NYC, beeyatch! Recently interviewed by Pitchfork, they talk about the emotional zen of rock band existence, the apparent good fortune of low expectations, and keeping it real…fun. Oh, and they also mumble ambiguously about the possible future of the band. Some Chavezean words to live by:
…the idea was that nobody was allowed to tell anybody else what to do
That’s the only way it ever works and works well, kids.

Are you going up there specifically for the show? “I need a miracle…” Rock-style. And how do you pronounce ‘Roughhousing mishap’ anyway?

Dude, please consult me next time. Last week I was incredibly close to pulling the trigger on Priceline. I would’ve whined like a bitch if the sound was sub-par, so maybe next time- if there is one. Hey let’s go to LA! I have been doin’ the James Lo airdrumming quite a bit lately.
